Chi siamo
Planner 5D is an interior design service. For it we designed a full VR app where you build and furnish a room in 3D and then step into it. Everything is controlled from a virtual console that floats in front of you, and we proposed adding room scanning so a real space can be brought into the app.
Challenge
Show a room and its design options in 3D, in a headset, so people can judge a layout and furniture at real scale instead of on a flat screen.
Approach
We started from the app concept. Instead of menus pinned to the controllers, the whole interface lives on one console that hangs in front of the user like a control desk.
The console
The room on a platform
The room you are working on sits above the console as a model on a glowing platform, with the controls and the catalog below it.
Interior and exterior
The catalog is split into Interior, from soft furniture and beds to office furniture, and Exterior, from trees and garden furniture to the garage, the pool and lighting.
Into the room
A preview pedestal shows the piece you picked before it goes into the room.
At full scale
From the console the room opens to full scale, and you stand inside it.

Sketched around a seated user
Early versions of the console were sketched in Gravity Sketch around a seated user. The showreel shows the finished console used with bare hands in the headset.

We also proposed room scanning, designed the screens and prototypes, and made the marketing materials, including the showreel and the interface animations. The showreel credits the project to WOW lab and Argument together.

Outcome
The app helped the client confirm there is demand for the product, raise investment to build it and grow subscription sales of the service.
