À propos

A reel of the VR apps we designed with WOWLab in 2020: hotel booking for VResort, MRI viewing for Amplifier AI, Flow VR meditation for office relax zones and the VR art pieces about Malevich, Goncharova and Shishkin for the Tretyakov Gallery. Across them we did UX and UI design, 3D visualisation and interaction mechanics in Unity and Unreal Engine.

Approach

Each project starts with paperwork that saves money later: a user flow, a look at competitors and a concept design document, which the roadmap and the technical guide grow out of. For Amplifier AI the technical guide described how to show heavy MRI images next to the interface in Unreal Engine, and for the Tretyakov Gallery one concept document turned into three experiences.

We lay interfaces out right in VR, so the client can try the arrangement in the headset before the final 3D interface is modelled. The interface and its animations are handed over as assets that drop into Unity or Unreal projects; VResort put ours straight into its Oculus Quest build.

Interactions and game mechanics are built in the engine, first on simple shapes and then on the final 3D objects, as we did for Goncharova. In the Shishkin piece the player explores the forest by painting it.
