Sobre
ESGM is a language services agency in Finland, set up by two linguists with long experience in medical translation and interpreting. It translates documents, video, user manuals and contracts, provides interpreting, and localizes websites, multimedia and e-learning courses. We designed the agency's website.
Challenge
The agency serves clients in six industries, from legal and business to life sciences, and relies on an international network of freelance translators. The site had to explain a wide range of services to clients and give translators a way to apply.
Approach
The look is black type on white with soft blue, lilac, peach and mint blocks. Line illustrations and loose hand-drawn scribbles keep a technical service friendly and easy to read.
One home page for six industries
The home page opens with a short line, Be seen, globally, and a row of service tags: translation, interpreting, multimedia, website localization and e-learning. Below, tabs explain how the agency works, with plain notes on translation tools and file formats. An industries grid, stories and a short contact form close the page.

Applying as a translator
For Jobs we designed a six-step application for freelance translators: personal details, work experience, the translation tools they use with a skill level for each, and language pairs with certification.
