An XR app for exploring large datasets in space instead of on a flat screen. We came up with a new concept for the app, gave it a visual style and packaged the whole case.
Challenge
Large arrays of data are hard to read on a screen. The task was to turn them into an app you use in a headset, give that app a style of its own and package it completely.
Approach
The app is built around a data story that plays out in the space around the viewer, with controls that stay out of the way and work for a whole group in one session.
Presentation mode
A data story plays out around the viewer step by step. A floating control panel sits under the chart with a timeline, Back and Next, and collapses into a single Play button for auto-play. Hovering over a data point opens a tooltip with its value.

Sessions for several people
A users panel shows the host and the participants with their mic and view status, and the host can hand over the presenter role or hide avatars. A gallery holds the saved flows, and when a story ends a card offers the next one.
Ready for the build
We went through four versions of the presentation interface, then redesigned the main controls as round floating buttons and animated the panel and its buttons, so the assets could go straight to the developers.

The case helped the client open conversations with new companies in the XR space. New partnerships followed, and with them investment.
